1. Accepting these terms

By installing or using Screenshot Copy Paste ("the app") you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. The app asks you to accept both when you first open it. If you don't agree, please don't use the app and uninstall it.

2. What the app does

The app lets you take a screenshot of what is on your screen and then:

• select and copy the text in it, in many languages (for example English, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, Persian, Bengali, Russian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese and Korean, and text written in Latin letters such as Roman Urdu);
• draw around part of it to crop that part, then copy, save or share it;
• draw on it or blur private details;
• look it up with an image search app on your phone.

We may add, change or remove features over time.

3. Your licence to use the app

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app on Android devices you own or control, free of charge, for your own personal or work use. The basic features are free of charge; Pro features need a Pro plan after the free trial (section 4). You may not sell, rent or redistribute the app, or remove its notices.

4. Pro, the free trial and payments

• What Pro includes: copying text and searching it, Google Lens, saving to the gallery, brush, blur and pixelate, sharing, and no ads. Copying the screenshot as an image stays free.
• Free trial: every phone gets all Pro features free for 3 days after the app is first installed, once. Reinstalling the app doesn't restart it.
• Plans: a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app and in Google Play before you pay, in your local currency.
• Payment and renewal: Google Play charges your Google account. Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
• Cancelling: cancel anytime in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds: refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy.
• Lifetime: a single payment that unlocks Pro for as long as we provide the app, on the Google account used to buy it.
• Changes: we may change prices for future periods; Google Play tells subscribers before a price increase takes effect. If a Pro feature is removed, we'll try to replace it with something of similar value.

5. The shortcuts and permissions

• Volume Button Trigger (Accessibility Service). If you turn it on, the app sees volume button presses and, when you hold your chosen button, takes a screenshot and reads the text on screen, only to open the editor. Details are in the Privacy Policy, section 3. You must accept the in-app explanation first, and you can turn it off at any time in your phone's Accessibility settings.
• Default Digital Assistant. If you set the app as your assistant, your phone's assistant gesture opens the app instead of another assistant. You can switch back at any time.
• Display over other apps. Some phones need this permission before the editor can open on top of other apps.

Turning on these features is your choice. The app works only as far as your phone and its maker allow; some phones limit or change these features.

6. Using the app responsibly

You are responsible for what you capture, copy, save and share. You agree not to:

• capture or share content you have no right to, such as copyrighted material or content an app or website forbids you to copy;
• capture or share other people's private information (for example private messages, photos or ID details) without their permission, or use the app to harass, track or spy on anyone;
• use the app for anything illegal where you live;
• copy, change, reverse-engineer or resell the app, or try to get around its security or Android's protections;
• misuse our support form or services, for example by sending spam or harmful content.

7. Accuracy of copied text

Text is recognised automatically on your phone. Recognition can be wrong, especially with small, blurry, decorated, handwritten, tilted or mixed-language text. Always check copied text before you rely on it, particularly for numbers, codes, addresses, amounts, medical or legal information. We are not responsible for losses caused by incorrect recognised text.

8. Other apps and services

When you share a screenshot or send it to an image search app (the Lens button), the receiving app or service handles it under its own terms and privacy policy, not ours. The app's text recognition uses Google ML Kit and Tesseract, which run on your phone.

Ads. The free version shows one ad on its main screen, served by Google AdMob; Pro and the free trial have no ads. Ads are provided by third parties; we don't control or endorse what they offer, and anything you do with an advertiser is between you and them. How ad data is handled is explained in our Privacy Policy.

9. Ownership

The app, its design, code and name belong to us. Your screenshots, crops, drawings and the text you copy belong to you (or to whoever owns the original content). We claim no rights over them, and we never receive them.

10. No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We work to make it reliable, but we don't promise that it will be free of errors, work on every phone, or always be available.

11. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or lost profits arising from using or not being able to use the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.

12. Ending use

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or stop providing the app, or features of it, and may end your licence if you break these terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the app changes or the law requires it. We will change the date at the top, and tell you in the app about important changes. Using the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
